It sounds like it could be another week before the Vols get their best offensive lineman back.

Josh Heupel spoke with the media on Thursday and addressed the status of his starting center for Saturday's game with UT-San Antonio.

"Coop's been with us all week long too," Heupel said.  "He was last week.  At the end of the day, he's a little bit of a game time decision.  Kind of based on how he's feeling at that point."

Cooper's absence has been one clouded with mystery ever since he underwent a medical procedure in early August to address an undisclosed injury.  It was expressed by both Josh Heupel and Florida head coach Billy Napier that they believed Mays would be on the field last Saturday for Tennessee's SEC opener.  However, Mays was not available for the game.  Now, it appears that absence could extend through at least the season's first four games.

The roster news wasn't all bad for Tennessee on Thursday.  DB Doneiko Slaughter and OL Gerald Mincey are both going to be back this week, per Heupel.

The Vols and Roadrunners will square off on Saturday at 4:00 pm on the SEC Network from Neyland Stadium.
