The Tennessee Vols are one of the programs in the mix for a five-star recruit that's set to commit on Saturday.
But unfortunately for the Vols, it appears that Tennessee won't be receiving good news on Saturday afternoon.
2024 five-star defensive lineman Kamarion Franklin is scheduled to choose between Auburn, Florida State, Miami, Ole Miss, and Tennessee this weekend.
And multiple reports have indicated that Auburn and Miami are the two teams to beat for Franklin.
While Miami is very much in this recruiting battle, it's Auburn, however, that's viewed as the favorite ahead of Saturday.
“Auburn and Miami look to be the top two heading into Saturday,” noted On3's Chad Simmons this week. “Things change quickly in recruiting these days, but I like where Auburn sits. Since his visit to the Plains on July 31, the Tigers have been the school trending.”
Franklin, 6-foot-5/265 lbs from Lake Cormorant, MS, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 6 defensive lineman in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state of Mississippi. He's also rated as the No. 30 overall player in the 2024 recruiting class.
The Vols would obviously love to have Franklin as part of their 2024 recruiting class, but it appears this battle might be out of reach for Tennessee.
