The Tennessee Vols received some much-needed good publicity on Sunday night during a national television broadcast.
During the opening of Football Night in America, the Sunday Night Football pregame show on NBC, studio analyst Rodney Harrison took some time to congratulate his son, Christian, on his commitment to Tennessee.
The shoutout included some well-placed Vols graphics, along with Rocky Top playing in the background (and a photo of UT head coach Josh Heupel).
Football Night in America is one of the highest-rated weekly primetime shows in the country. You can't put a price on this type of publicity for the Volunteers — especially getting a former NFL Pro-Bowl safety to talk about Tennessee.
Millions of viewers heard Rocky Top on Sunday night and saw a Super Bowl champion essentially endorsing the program. It might seem like a small thing, but it should give UT's football program a nice boost on the recruiting trail.
Christian Harrison, by the way, is a three-star cornerback from Atlanta, GA who is rated as the No. 92 player in the state of Georgia.
