It appears the Tennessee Vols have already identified their next big quarterback recruiting target.
According to Rivals.com national recruiting director Adam Gorney, Tennessee has made it clear to 2025 four-star quarterback Cutter Boley that he's the Vols' top quarterback priority in the 2025 recruiting class.
The message from Tennessee to Boley could not be clearer that he’s at the top of the quarterback board and that he’s a major priority in the 2025 class. That has gone over well as the Lexington (Ky.) Lexington Christian Academy four-star quarterback has hit it off with coach Josh Heupel and offensive coordinator Joey Halzle.
Boley, 6-foot-5/203 lbs from Lexington, KY, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 4 quarterback in the 2025 recruiting class and the No. 1 player in the state of Kentucky. He's also rated as the No. 54 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class.
According to 247Sports, Boley, who is also an accomplished basketball player, passed for 1,391 yards and 11 touchdowns on 83-for-165 passing as a freshman in high school. He also rushed for 245 yards and six touchdowns as a freshman.
Boley is being pursued by most of the top programs in the country, but it sounds like the Vols are in a good spot for him thanks in part to his relationship with Tennessee offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Joey Halzle.
“I was super excited to see Coach Halzle get announced as the new offensive coordinator," said Boley to On3 recently. "I really liked Coach (Alex) Golesh, but he wasn’t really my position coach, so I have always had more contact with Coach Halzle and Coach (Josh) Heupel when I have been down there. They were one of the first schools I started talking with, so it has been a good relationship with them. I am excited to come back down next week.”
There's obviously a long way to go in this recruiting battle, but Tennessee has made it clear to Boley that he's their guy in the 2025 class.
