Tennessee Vols junior wide receiver Jalin Hyatt is guaranteed to be a fan favorite after the comments he made on Tuesday during a media session with reporters.

Hyatt, who struggled as a sophomore last season due to having his focus in the wrong places (something he's admitted), has rebounded this season to become an important player for the Vols.

The South Carolina native caught 11 passes for 73 yards in Tennessee's 34-27 overtime win against Pittsburgh this past weekend. Hyatt is quickly becoming a go-to option for Vols quarterback Hendon Hooker.

Hyatt spoke on Tuesday about his mindset and playing for his teammates.

"This is the SEC," said Hyatt. "We're at the University of Tennessee. We have great guys here, great receivers here. Last year, it taught me if you don't play to the standard of where you need to be at, you're going to be on the side. You're not going to play."

"The reason why I work so hard, I just want to do it for these teammates," added Hyatt.

He also mentioned how Tennessee is committed to having the best offense in the nation.

"Every time we come into the facility and every time we meet, that's the standard," explained Hyatt. "We want to be the best offense in the country, and it starts every day in practice. It starts every time we prepare for anybody we're playing that week. That's the mindset and standard every day."

"I think we're the best receiving corps in the SEC," added Hyatt. "To do that, we have to keep doing what we are doing and keep making explosive plays. When Hooker throws it up, it's not a fifty-fifty ball. We have to come down with it every time to be the best receiver corps in the SEC. I feel very comfortable with the guys we have, especially with Hooker being the quarterback. We have to keep going every day."

You can feel in the passion in Hyatt's voice when he talks about working hard, being the best, and playing for his teammates.

Hyatt went through some struggles last season, but he's a better player now because of those struggles. And he's proving that he is indeed one of the best slot receivers in the nation.

With his speed, Hyatt can be one of the most dangerous players in the SEC. I have a feeling we're only seeing the beginning of how good he can be.
