The Tennessee Vols recently extended a scholarship offer to the son of a former NFL tight end.
2026 offensive lineman Brody Smith, the son of former NFL tight end Lee Smith, was offered by the Vols this past weekend.
Smith, 6-foot-5/285 lbs from Jefferson City, MO, hasn't been rated yet by the major recruiting services.
Smith's father, Lee, played in the NFL from 2011 to 2021 after a solid collegiate career at Marshall.
The elder Smith, who is from Powell, TN, initially enrolled at Tennessee in 2006. But he was kicked off the team by then-head coach Phillip Fulmer before the start of the season after getting arrested for driving while under the influence.
Tennessee doesn't have any players committed to its 2026 recruiting class just yet, but it looks like they're hoping that will change in the not-so-distant future.
