Tennessee Vols junior wide receiver Jalin Hyatt had a big game on Saturday night against Akron, catching five passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns.

Hyatt, a former four-star recruit, is living up to his potential so far this season, which is a testament to the coaching staff.

Josh Heupel and his assistants — including wide receivers coach Kelsey Pope — have proven they can consistently put wide receivers in a great spot for success.

After the game, Hyatt sent a message to wide receiver recruits — Tennessee has the best wide receivers coach in the nation and recruits should want to play for the Vols.

"He was there for me last year when things weren't going well for me," said Hyatt after the win. "I love Coach Pope. He's the best receivers coach in the country. If you're a recruit and want to catch the ball, come here."

Hyatt is right — elite wide receiver recruits can come to Tennessee and have a lot of success.

If you don't believe me, just look at Cedric Tillman's stats before Heupel and his staff arrived (eight receptions in three seasons). Or the way Hyatt struggled last season only to rebound this year and become one of the top wide receivers in the SEC.

The best recruiting pitch has always been on-field results. And the Vols are certainly getting on-field results right now that recruits should love.
