The storyline surrounding the Tennessee Vols all week was that UT's culture was a disaster.

That storyline was manufactured from message board rumors, social media posts, and erroneous statements from folks like ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit.

After the Vols' win against Vanderbilt, Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel addressed the rumors by telling SEC Network's Cole Cubelic that beating the Commodores was a "culture win".

Vols quarterback Joe Milton, who was starting in place of the injured Hendon Hooker, was asked after the game about the locker room.

And Milton made it clear that the talk about Tennessee's locker room issues was just outside noise all week.

"That was just definitely outside," said an unblinking Milton of the talk about UT's "bad culture".

"Thoe types of things you can't control," added Milton. "Everybody always got something to say about something. You control what you can control. We knew that inside the building, we're brothers. We kept it as that. We don't have to change anything."

That should pretty much put an end to that story.

The culture issues that folks talked about all week simply don't exist. Tennessee, like any team, isn't perfect. And there are squabbles among teammates from time to time. But the locker room in Knoxville is strong. And I think the Vols' 56-0 win on Saturday night showed that to everyone.
