The Tennessee Vols reportedly "have the edge" in the early recruiting battle for 2025 three-star cornerback Dylan Lewis.
Lewis, 5-foot-11/180 lbs from Alpharetta, GA, is ranked in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 45 cornerback in the nation and the No. 50 player in the state of Georgia.
Last week, Lewis revealed his top eight schools and he included Tennessee, along with Auburn, Clemson, Kentucky, LSU, NC State, North Carolina, and UCF.
On Monday, Rivals.com national recruiting director Adam Gorney reported that Tennessee is "very high" on Lewis' list and the Vols currently "have the edge" for the talented cornerback.
But while Tennessee is in a good spot right now for Lewis, several other programs are still very much in the mix.
Gorney pointed out Clemson, LSU, North Carolina, and NC State as four programs that high on Lewis' list (which would indicate that Auburn, Kentucky, and UCF are fading in this battle).
There's still over a year to go until Lewis can sign. But for now, the Vols seem well positioned to land the talented cornerback that will likely see a ratings bump in the not-so-distant future.
