The Tennessee Vols were included among the top six schools this weekend for one of the most coveted college football recruits in the nation.
2025 five-star offensive tackle David Sanders dropped his top six schools on Saturday and he included Tennessee, along with Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Ohio State, and South Carolina.
Sanders, 6-foot-6/270 lbs from Charlotte, NC, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 1 offensive tackle in the nation and the No. 1 player in the state of North Carolina. He's also rated as the No. 2 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class.
“Tennessee has been doing a great job ever since I visited for the first time in eighth grade," said Sanders to 247Sports after announcing his top six. "The coaching staff has done a phenomenal job getting to know me and my family. I love the program and everything they’re building for the future.”
The Vols have made Sanders a top priority, but so have the other programs in the North Carolina native's top six. Tennessee is in a good spot for Sanders, but this is a battle that's going to go until pen meets paper on signing day.
