One of the Tennessee Vols’ top 2027 recruiting targets dropped a concerning quote after visit to ACC program
One of the Tennessee Vols’ top 2027 recruiting targets took a visit to Miami this past weekend.
One of the Tennessee Vols’ top 2027 recruiting targets is five-star wide receiver Kesean Bowman.
Bowman, 6-foot-1, 174 pounds, from Brentwood, TN, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 5 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state of Tennessee. He’s also rated as the No. 29 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class.
The Vols have been viewed as one of the favorites for Bowman since the five-star recruit’s decommitment from Oregon in September.
Bowman, though, is checking out numerous programs this fall. He was at Alabama for the Crimson Tide’s win against Tennessee earlier this month. Bowman also visited Miami this past weekend for what he called his “favorite visit so far.”
“My experience at Miami was great, honestly,” said Bowman to On3. “It’s been my favorite visit so far. Even though the game itself wasn’t as exciting as some of the other home games Miami has had, the overall atmosphere was still really good.”
There’s still a long way to go in Bowman’s recruitment — he won’t officially sign with a program for over a year — but that’s still a concerning quote for Tennessee. This is a recruiting battle the Vols should win. But as we know, schools don’t always win the recruiting battles they should.
I still think Tennessee is one of the top programs to beat for Bowman, but this will be a tough recruiting battle that will likely have some twists and turns. Miami is now clearly a threat to the Vols.
Former Tennessee linebacker said last month that Kesean Bowman has orange in his sights
Former Vols linebacker Kevin Simon suggested last month, before Bowman decommitted from Oregon, that the five-star wide receiver has “orange in his sights.”
“I think some good things are going to happen in Tennessee,” said Simon. “I know Kesean Bowman, who’s committed to Oregon, you know, he’s starting to feel a little different. He’s starting to feel the love from Tennessee. So, we’ll see…..He’s got orange in his sights.”
Simon’s son, Kenneth (a 2027 four-star linebacker), is teammates with Bowman at Brentwood Academy.
Bowman’s tour of the top programs in the sport will continue this weekend when he visits Ohio State for the Buckeyes’ matchup against Penn State.
