Tennessee Vols junior wide receiver Jalin Hyatt was massively disrespected by Pro Football Focus this week.
Pro Football Focus revealed their 2022 All-American teams this week and Hyatt was listed with the third team.
Hyatt, who is a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award (given annually to the college football season’s outstanding FBS receiver), was the only Tennessee player named by PFF as an All-American.
(The fact that Vols right tackle Darnell Wright, a potential first-round NFL Draft pick, was not named is laughable.)
Let's take a look at Hyatt's impressive resumé.
Hyatt is No. 3 in the nation in receiving yards (1,267) and he's first in the SEC by 369 yards (South Carolina wide receiver Antwane Wells Jr. is next in the SEC with 898 receiving yards).
In addition to the yardage, Hyatt also leads the nation in receiving touchdowns with 15 (he's tied with Houston wide receiver Nathan Dell).
Hyatt is easily one of the best college football players in the nation and he's consistently shown that all season long.
There isn't a more difficult task in college football than being an offensive player in the SEC. Hyatt has dominated the conference and that alone should make him worthy of being a PFF first-team All-American.
