Tennessee Vols junior wide receiver Jalin Hyatt revealed his NFL draft decision and Orange Bowl plans on Wednesday.
Hyatt announced that he's planning to declare for the 2023 NFL Draft and forego his final two years of eligibility (he would have a second year of eligibility remaining because of the COVID-19 impacted 2020 season).
The South Carolina native also announced that he won't be playing in the Orange Bowl on December 30 against Clemson.
Hyatt finishes his Tennessee career with 108 receptions for 1,769 yards and 19 receiving touchdowns. The bulk of his production came in 2022. Hyatt had 67 receptions for 1,267 yards and 15 touchdowns this season. He needed just 32 yards to break Robert Meachem's single-season UT record for receiving yards.
Here's where Hyatt ranks all-time at Tennessee in several statistical categories.
- Single season receiving yards: No. 2 (1,267 receiving yards in 2022)
- Receptions in a single game: tied for No. 7 (11 receptions against Pittsburgh in 2022)
- Single-game receiving yards: No. 6 (207 receiving yards against Alabama in 2022)
- Receiving touchdowns: tied for No. 4 (19 career receiving touchdowns)
- Single season receiving touchdowns: No. 1 (15 in 2022)
- Single game receiving touchdowns: No. 1 (5 against Alabama in 2022)
Hyatt is expected to be a top-40 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
