Tennessee Vols junior wide receiver Jalin Hyatt has some personal goals for the 2022 season.
Hyatt, a former four-star recruit who signed with the Vols during the 2020 recruiting cycle, would like to top 1,000 receiving yards this upcoming season. He'd also like to be known as one of the most physical slot wide receivers in the nation (which is a big reason why he's looking to add some weight to his frame this summer).
It's a major team goal, however, that means the most to Hyatt in 2022.
The Irmo, SC native appeared on The Slice podcast this week and he revealed the Vols' team-wide goal for the 2022 season.
Tennessee wants to be playing in Atlanta for the SEC Championship the first weekend in December.

"All of our goals is to get to Atlanta," said Hyatt. "I think that's one of the biggest ones (goals) that all of us are living by right now."
"Our goal for Atlanta…we can definitely do it this year," added Hyatt. "I think guys are starting to realize that. This is probably the most guys I've seen [staying in Knoxville to work out during the summer]. We have a lot of guys staying here. It's going to be a big year for us."
Hyatt stressed that he and his teammates are dedicated to winning big games this year. And he explained that players sticking around for the summer is proof that Tennessee has great player leadership in place.
"It just shows how all of us are maturing," said Hyatt. "It's just how much we all want it…when your team is player-driven, and not the coaches are telling you what to do, that's when you know you have a great team. When the leaders are coming up and saying 'alright let's get on the field' or 'let's go watch film', that's when you know you have a great team. And I think that's what's happening right now."
The Vols have a tough road ahead of them if they're going to win the SEC East in 2022. Numerous media outlets have picked Tennessee to finish No. 2 in the division — that's not that big of a stretch. But getting past Georgia — the defending national champions — won't be easy. For the Vols to get to Atlanta, they'll almost certainly have to beat at least either Alabama or Georgia. Tennessee has only beat Georgia twice in the last 10 years. And they haven't beaten Alabama since 2006. It's a tall task to ask a less-talented Tennessee team to win either of those games.
But I don't think there's any doubt something special is brewing with this Vols team. The culture has changed under Josh Heupel and this team believes it can win the SEC East.
And belief can be a very dangerous thing.
