The Tennessee Titans fell to the Jacksonville Jaguars in heartbreaking fashion on Saturday to lose the AFC South crown. It was a frustrating end to a disappointing season for the Titans.
Somehow, the Houston Texans just outdid them a day later when it comes to embarrassing outcomes.
Firstly, the Texans beat the Indianapolis Colts. Now, a win can never be looked at was a complete negative.
That being said, the win took away the number one overall pick from the Texans.
If they would have lost, they would have secured the top spot in the draft to possibly select their quarterback of the future.
They have the second overall selection now, so they may have to trade into the first spot in order to make sure that they get the QB that they want the most. Other teams will be trying to trade with the Chicago Bears for their number one overall pick.
Additionally, the Texans just fired their head coach.
Lovie Smith lasted just one season in Houston.
Their previous coach, David Culley, lasted just one season as well.
The Texans are just churning through head coaches right now, and there is no stability or direction.
Chair and CEO Cal McNair unveiled a statement explaining the franchise's decision on Sunday night.
McNair mentions that he and Nick Caserio will work on sustaining a successful for the Texans. That will be a long road with the current roster.
Regardless, Houston somehow may have embarrassed themselves even more than the Titans this weekend.
