While the Tennessee Titans are searching for its next offensive coordinator, there is reason to believe the perfect candidate just became available.
On Thursday, the Baltimore Ravens announced that the team and offensive coordinator Greg Roman are parting ways, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo. Prior to serving as offensive coordinator, Roman was an offensive assistant and tight ends coach with the Ravens dating back to the 2017 season.
In his four years calling plays for Baltimore, Roman guided the offense to three playoff appearances. In fact, the Ravens never finished outside of the NFL’s top three in rushing offense during Roman’s tenure as offensive coordinator.
He oversaw a Ravens rushing attack that eclipsed 100 yards on the ground in an NFL record 43 straight games from 2019-2021. In 2019, Baltimore became the first team in NFL history to both rush and pass for an average of at least 200 yards per game.
Though the team is expected to undergo a facelift this offseason, the Titans’ offense will still implement a run-first identity in 2023. Led by Derrick Henry and a physically imposing style in the run game, Roman would fit seamlessly into the Titans’ plans next season.
