Arizona Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins

The Tennessee Titans have officially emerged as a suitor for three-time All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Hopkins, 31, was officially released by the Arizona Cardinals last week. According to reports, the Titans will meet with Hopkins on Sunday in Nashville.

The Titans didn't seem like a front-runner to land the WR when he was first let go by Arizona, but the connection is a bit stronger when you look deeper into the situation. Before playing with the Cardinals, Hopkins was with the Houston Texans.

The Titans hold an advantage with Hopkins that no other team in the NFL can boast. Both their head coach, Mike Vrabel, and their offensive coordinator, Tim Kelly, have coached Hopkins before.

Vrabel and Kelly both worked for the Texans during part of Hopkins' time with the Titans' AFC South rival. Therefore, he knows how they coach, and clearly, he enjoyed it since he's visiting with Tennessee. According to Aaron Wilson, Hopkins had a positive review of OC Tim Kelly in 2019.

"Tim Kelly, he's a great guy, great coach… So, I'm looking forward to working with him. It's good. Tim's been around us for a while."

Keep an eye on this connection as the jockeying for Hopkins heats up around the league. The Titans already have a leg up on the competition.
