NASHVILLE — Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry always seems to find an extra gear in the games that matter most.

Over his eight year NFL career, the man they call King Henry has reigned over the AFC South in historically dominant fashion.

Henry has averaged 103.6 rushing yards per divisional game in his career. That is the second highest total ever behind Barry Sanders (104.7). But since 2018 when he became the Titans' primary back, Henry has averaged an astonishing 126.7 rushing yards per game against AFC South opponents.

In six of his last seven games against the Indianapolis Colts, Henry has gone over 100 yards rushing. The Titans have also won six of those seven games. That’s not a coincidence.

Henry will look to continue his dominant division run on Sunday with the Titans (2-2) trying to maintain momentum on the 2023 season and win back-to-back games for the first time.

Last week against the Cincinnati Bengals, establishing the running game helped the Titans offense post 27 points. Henry will be essential against Indianapolis as well.

"I approach it like any other game," said Henry when asked about his history of success against the Colts. "Every game is different. Every game is not going to be the same. Every year is not going to be the same when you play an opponent. Treat it as another game and prepare and get ready for it."

The current line set by BetMGM.com is over/under 76.5 rushing yards for Henry. Recent history would certainly favor the over on that one.
