The Cincinnati Bengals will be without one of their top players on Sunday when they travel to Nashville to take on the Tennessee Titans.
Bengals head coach Zac Taylor told reporters on Friday that running back Joe Mixon likely won't make the trip to Tennessee and he's been ruled out for the game.
Mixon isn't quite Titans running back Derrick Henry, but he's still an important part of the Bengals' offense. The former Oklahoma standout has totaled 919 yards from scrimmage this season and eight total touchdowns.
In the playoffs last season against the Titans, Mixon rushed for 54 yards and a touchdown. He also caught six passes for 51 yards.
I don't think the loss of Mixon significantly tilts the game in Tennessee's favor — the Titans were likely going to be able to hold him in check with their stingy defense.
But it's still one less playmaker the Titans will have to worry about on Sunday in an important AFC showdown.
