Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks suffered an LCL sprain on Wednesday during a joint practice with the Minnesota Vikings.
The second year wide receiver made a nice catch on a deep pass, but he immediately came up limping and had to leave practice.
NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported on Wednesday evening that Burks is only expected to miss a few weeks.
On Thursday, Titans head coach Mike Vrabel addressed the severity of Burks' injury.
"I don't think it's going to be a longterm thing," said Vrabel on Thursday. "No structural damage. Anticipate him being back — again, I'm not putting a timeline on it. But I think it was the best-case scenario."
Vrabel's comments combined with Rapoport's report certainly seem to suggest that Burks will be ready for the start of the regular season — which is a little over three weeks away.
It's obviously impossible to know how Burks' recovery will progress over the next couple of weeks, but there's no doubt that the Titans dodged the worst-case scenario with the former Arkansas standout.
