NASHVILLE — Tennessee Titans cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting will miss his second consecutive game with a thumb injury after being ruled out for Tennessee's Week 11 matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Murphy-Bunting had torn ligaments in his thumb that required surgery after the Titans' loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. At first, SMB believed he would be able to play through the pain, but he quickly realized in Pittsburgh that it was more than he could bear. He is still in the recovery process and unable to move his thumb at the moment.

While he was a partial participant in practices this week and active on show team, SMB's thumb cannot handle contact. As a physical corner who likes to use his hands, that's necessary for him to suit up.

However, Murphy-Bunting did tell Titans media in the locker room on Friday that he could return as soon as next week with a club on his right hand to protect his thumb. That would be a challenge for him, but one he's not afraid to overcome or tough out.

In other injury news, wide receiver Treylon Burks (concussion) and left tackle Andre Dillard (concussion) were also ruled out by head coach Mike Vrabel on Friday. Neither player practiced this week, and thus did not clear concussion protocol.

With Burks out for another week, expect the volume of targets to DeAndre Hopkins to remain high with Kyle Philips having another big impact on third downs. Dillon Radunz and Jaelyn Duncan remain the most likely options for the Titans to replace Dillard at left tackle. Tennessee is in desperate need of some improved offensive line play.

One thing that should help with that is the return of Daniel Brunskill from his ankle injury. I spoke to Brunskill earlier this week in the Titans' locker room and he told me he is feeling great and ready to return as soon as possible. He is listed as questionable on the final injury report, but I am expecting him to be out there on Sunday.
