Tennessee Titans fans are still trying to catch their breath after DT Jeffery Simmons’ sent the fanbase into a frenzy.

It was a normal Friday in early April around the NFL world. Draft prospects were taking visits around the league, gearing up for the 2023 NFL Draft. It was business as usual.

That was until Simmons sent this tweet, which appeared to hint that his time in Tennessee was coming to a close.

For seven long minutes Titans Twitter went into a panic.

Are the Titans trading Big Jeff? Did contract extension talks push him out of the door? How could the Titans allow this to happen?

All of those thoughts, plus a few more I can’t put into writing, made their way onto social media. That was until Simmons followed his initial tweet up with the happiest news of Tennessee’s offseason.

*Deep exhale*

ESPN’s Turron Davenport would then confirm that the Titans were signing Simmons to a four-year extension worth $94 million, giving the fanbase (and Big Jeff) a reason to start the weekend early.

It’s tremendous for the Titans to have locked Simmons up through 2027, but did Big Jeff really have to give fans a heart attack? With that being said, it’s impossible to be upset considering Simmons isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
