Tennessee Titans safety Kevin Byard is no stranger to disrespect. The veteran has been a top tier safety for much of his career in Nashville. Last year, he was arguably the top player at his position in the NFL. Regardless, the credit he receives is minute compared to many other players.

The latest "NFL Top 100" list is yet another example of disrespect towards the Titans star on defense. He did not make the list, so the league does not value him as a top 100 player in the NFL. Byard absolutely is – considering he is undoubtedly a top five safety in the league. Byard grabbed the 108th spot.

It is a bit surprising, though, because other players usually have a gleaming review of the Titans safety when asked. Byard is the clear leader of the Titans defense that consistently outproduces their projections every season that he remains healthy.

He has totaled at least 84 tackles in every season since 2017. His lone season since 2017 without at least four interceptions was 2020. Not to mention, he has helped elevate other players around him – like Amani Hooker and Kristian Fulton.

Maybe, at some point, folks will start to give him more credit for remaining consistent at a very difficult position in the NFL.
