NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans have made their first round of cuts with the training camp roster being narrowed down to 53 players by Tuesday's deadline.

In a series of moves Sunday afternoon, veteran kicker Michael Badgley was released. That leaves Tennessee without a kicker on the current roster and raises questions about who will kick for Tennessee when they play the New Orleans Saints on September 10th. That player could be on the free agent market currently or someone who is cut by a team in the next few days.

Either way, moving on from Badgley was both wise and necessary given his performance in one week with the team.

Badgley missed a handful of very reasonable kicks in his first practice with the Titans and looked uninspiring in the preseason finale against the Patriots.

On Friday night, Badgley was 3-for-4 on field goals including a miss wide left from 39 and a make from 44 that hit off the left upright.

Mason Crosby, Robbie Gould, Rodrigo Blankenship, and Ryan Succop are all notable names currently on the free agent market. Veteran Nick Folk is a notable cut candidate in New England after the Pats drafted Maryland's Chad Ryland in the fourth round.
