As the first two members of the Tennessee Titans' 2023 draft class, Peter Skoronski and Will Levis will forever be connected. The versatile offensive lineman and skilled quarterback represent a new era of Titans football that will outlast the Derrick Henry, Kevin Byard, and Ryan Tannehill years.

Skoronski and Levis will take the field for the next four seasons as teammates, but even before the 2023 NFL Draft got underway and the Titans submitted their draft cards, these two players shared a great family connection.

Levis' grandfather, David Kelley, was a football lifer who spent over 20 years (1972-1996) on the coaching staff at Yale University with longtime head coach Carm Cozza.

One of the many players Kelley coached while at Yale was Bob Skoronski Jr., a defensive lineman from Menasha, Wisconsin and the father of Titans offensive lineman Peter Skoronski.

Football runs in the family for both Levis and Skoronski, and during the very stressful pre-draft process, the two families were able to rely on one another.

"My grandfather coached Peter's father, and even after Peter's dad was on the team, anytime my grandfather would go to the Chicago area to go recruit, he'd stay at Peter's father's house," Levis told Titans media after rookie mini camp on Saturday. "When we were going through this process, like pre-combine, during draft prep training, my family had the Skoronski's to kind of lean on and to ask questions about how things are going with them."

If you ask Levis, landing on the same team as his family friend was always meant to be.

"Coincidentally, we signed with the same agency, so we had a lot of the same conversations with the same people there. Day 1 of the draft when Peter went [to the Titans] and Day 2 rolled around I was like 'how funny would be if I end up on the same team?' and here we are," Levis said. "It's pretty funny how all those things come together. I truly feel everything happens for a reason."

Skoronski said that he has "connected" with Levis in the first couple days of rookie minicamp despite spending most of his time with his fellow offensive linemen.

"Obviously it's been great to be around Will and you can tell he works really hard and is really prepared, so I'm really impressed with him," said Skoronski.
