The Tennessee Titans officially announced on Thursday that they will be wearing the  Oilers throwback uniforms against the Atlanta Falcons on October 29th and the Houston Texans on December 17th.

Tennessee could not have picked two more perfect days to wear the uniforms and represent the franchise's history. Wearing Oilers threads against Houston was always a no-brainer, and that October game with Atlanta is during the Oilers/Titans Alumni Weekend.

Legends that once played in an Oilers jersey like Warren Moon, Eddie George, Elvin Bethea, and Robert Brazile come to Nissan Stadium once every year to celebrate the organization's history alongside their fellow alumni. This season, they will do so while the Titans take the field in the beloved "Love Ya' Blue!" uniforms.

It's not surprising that the city of Houston and the Houston Texans' fanbase isn't too thrilled by the idea of their division rival donning the old Oilers logo, but even the former Oilers greats know who the jerseys really belong to.

Robert "Dr. Doom" Brazile told Jim Wyatt of TennesseeTitans.com that the Titans bringing the jerseys back is "heartwarming" and brought him to tears. Brazile did not hold back when discussing why the Titans are more deserving of wearing them than Houston is.

"I am going to make this as plain and simple as I can for anyone who has any doubts about this: The Oilers are Titans history, not Texans history," Brazile said to Wyatt. "Look at the Titans' Ring of Honor, and how many Oilers are in there? It's a good number. How many Oilers are in the Texans' Ring of Honor? The answer is zero."

"I was born an Oiler and I'm going to die a Titan," said Brazile to Wyatt.

Even legendary quarterback Warren Moon – who played in the city of Houston for 10 years – is acknowledging that Nashville is now the home of Oilers history and the players that once wore the uniform.

"I know this is a very sensitive subject in Houston, but the Texans never really reached out to any of the [former Oilers] and never made it feel like they wanted anything to do with the Oilers," Moon said to Jim Wyatt. "They wanted to just create their own identity. Since Amy has taken over, she has really had a passion for the Houston Oilers – she wanted to bring everybody into one family, Oilers and Titans."

"Now all the Oilers feel really comfortable going to Nashville every year for their reunion, and they never had a reunion before Amy came aboard. I know my number is retired in the stadium in Nashville, and it's where I'm in the Ring of Honor, and that's what I identify with now," said Moon.

Those are some powerful statements from the men that these jerseys represent and the "Oilers belong to Houston" argument has never been more tired and played out. Knowing that the Titans will be wearing the uniforms in front of the Oilers' legends and the Houston Texans just makes it all the more special
