Pro Football Focus recently revealed its list of each NFL team’s most improved player from the 2022 season. As it pertains to the Tennessee Titans, PFF absolute hit the nail on the head.
Titans defensive lineman Teair Tart was highlighted as the player whose PFF grade increased the most over his last two seasons. Tart graded out as a 59.2 in 2021 but made the jump to a 73.1 mark in 2022.
Here is PFF’s excerpt on Tart’s growth:
"An undrafted free agent back in 2020, Tart has improved in each of his seasons in the NFL alongside an increased workload. He finished his third season in the league with a career-high 26 total pressures and 23 tackles resulting in a defensive stop."
Tart’s athleticism was on full display early and often in 2022. He’s proven to be a menace in the middle of the Titans’ stout defensive front with 34 tackles, five TFLs, and 1.5 sacks. His six passes defensed finished tied for fourth on the team as well.
Playing alongside Jeffery Simmons certainly has contributed to Tart’s speedy development. Tart is a restricted free agent in the 2023 offseason, but is thought to be a high priority in Tennessee.
Set to turn 26 years old in the offseason, Tart’s ceiling continues to rise. Tennessee would be wise to retain the Florida International product as a player who will likely provide plenty of bang for the Titans’ buck.
