According to Paul Kuharsky of PaulKuharsky.com, second-year quarterback Malik Willis will start for the Tennessee Titans against the Chicago Bears on Saturday afternoon.

The Titans kickoff from Soldier Field at Noon CST to begin the 2023 preseason.

Willis played in all three of Tennessee's preseason games as a rookie. In those three games, the former Liberty Flames QB compiled 318 passing yards, 159 rushing yards, three total touchdowns, and one interception.

Willis battled and won the backup quarterback job over Logan Woodside last season, but it was not always pretty throughout the preseason. In his first preseason game in Baltimore, Mike Vrabel benched Willis for not throwing the ball enough and being too hesitant in the pocket.

This time around, Willis is competing with rookie Will Levis and feels much more equipped to handle himself.

"I would hope so, that's a whole year," said Willis when asked by Titans media if he is better off now than he was as a rookie. "I've just been trying to learn something different every day and understand that each day won't be perfect. But if you can take what you messed up on and fix it and turn it into something positive, then that's the whole point."

Levis, who Tennessee selected with the 33rd overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, is expected to take over for Willis at some point on Saturday.
