With the Tennessee Titans hiring former Atlanta Falcons college scouting director Anthony Robinson as assistant GM, the organization appears to be moving on from Vice President of Player Personnel Ryan Cowden.

A to Z Sports had been made aware of a potential move with Cowden entering Thursday, and the Titans have now removed Cowden from the team's website (as first pointed out by Paul Kuharsky).

Cowden joined the franchise in 2016 as the Director of Player Personnel and was later promoted to VP of Player Personnel in 2018.

After former GM Jon Robinson was fired by the Titans back in December, Cowden worked alongside head coach Mike Vrabel in making all personnel decisions. Tennessee interviewed and considered Cowden for its General Manager job before hiring Carthon in January. Cowden also received interviews from the New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers.

It's not unusual for NFL front offices to have this kind of shake up after the NFL Draft. As VP of Player Personnel, Cowden was overseeing the Titans' entire scouting department and was instrumental in Tennessee's collegiate scouting.

The scouting process that led up to the 2023 NFL Draft was well in progress by the time Tennessee hired Carthon or fired Jon Robinson. Keeping Cowden on to see the draft process through was essential.

Joining the Titans' new front office in Cowden's place will be Anthony Robinson, who joins Chad Brinker as Tennessee's second assistant GM. Brinker is expected to oversee football operations, while Robinson will focus on scouting.

Robinson got his start when he was hired as an intern by the Baltimore Ravens back in 2006. In 2008, Atlanta hired Robinson as a scouting assistant, and he has been working for the team in both pro and collegiate scouting ever since.

After climbing the ladder with the Falcons, Robinson was promoted to Director of College Scouting in 2019.

The structure now in place in Tennessee's front office is similar to the system used in both Cleveland and Philadelphia.
