Last week, the NFL announced a rule change allowing players to wear the number zero. The Philadelphia Eagles proposed this rule change, and owners approved it during their annual meeting.

The new rule allows “quarterbacks to choose from numbers 0-19; defensive backs 0-49; fullbacks, tight ends, halfbacks, and wide receivers 0-49 and 80-89; linebackers 0-59 and 90-99. Offensive linemen remain relegated to 50-79, while defensive linemen can wear 50-79 and 90-99.”

It also allows punters and kickers to wear 0-49 and 90-99.

When the NFL initially announced the change, players around the league expressed excitement. Those players included Calvin Ridley, Micah Parsons, and the Titans' Sean Murphy-Bunting.

Yesterday, Buntings’ wish came true. The Titans announced jersey numbers for their new acquisitions, making Bunitng the first number zero in Titans' history.

The Titans also announced jersey numbers for some of their other acquisitions. Those include No. 2 Azeez Al-Shaair, No. 49 Arden Key, No. 57 Luke Gifford, No. 60 Daniel Brunskill, No. 71 Andre Dillard, No. 83 Justin Rigg, and No. 88 Trevon Wesco.
