Pro Football Focus thinks the Tennessee Titans should target a former Tennessee Vols standout in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
PFF recently pointed out a player that each NFL team should target in the second round.
And they think the Titans should draft a former Vols wide receiver.
PFF listed former Tennessee wide receiver Cedric Tillman as the player the Titans should have their eye on in the second round.
From PFF: The Titans' play-action-heavy offense is built to feature receivers with large catch radii over the middle of the field. No one fits that bill in the draft class better than Tillman. The 6-foot-3, 213-pounder is very reliable, went 19-of-32 in contested situations the past two seasons and has a 4.4% drop rate for his career.
Tillman is a bit of a forgotten player in the draft due to the ankle injury he suffered during his final season at Tennessee.
The Las Vegas native injured his ankle in the Vols' win against Akron early last season which caused Tillman to miss several of Tennessee's biggest games (Florida, LSU, Alabama).
Tillman was the leading returning wide receiver in the SEC in 2022 after catching 64 passes for 1,081 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2021.
The talented wide receiver doesn't have blazing speed (4.54 in the 40-yard dash), but he can still stretch the field vertically. Tillman's most impressive skill, however, is winning 50/50 balls and making contested catches. His size and ability to make tough catches in traffic make the former Vol an ideal red-zone threat for an NFL franchise.
The Titans have the No. 41 overall pick in the draft. That's about where Tillman has been going in mock drafts so they should have a shot to draft the former Tennessee star if he's a player they have high on their draft board.
