VolQuest' Brent Hubbs, a longtime Tennessee Vols insider, joined 104.5 The Zone's "Ramon, Kayla, and Will" on Friday morning to preview UT's matchup this weekend against the Texas A&M Aggies.

And Hubbs dropped a factoid that bodes well for Tennessee this weekend.

Hubbs noted that under Josh Heupel, Tennessee has outscored their opponents 227-57 in the first quarter in home games.

"Tennessee's got to get out of the gates fast," said Hubbs. "And the thing that Josh Heupel has done during his time at Tennessee, in the first quarter at home in two and a half years, Tennessee has outscored their opponents 227-57 in the first quarter. Tennessee's started fast — they need to start fast Saturday. That'll keep the fans engaged."

Starting fast against Texas A&M will be especially important. Not only will it keep the fans engaged as Hubbs mentioned (which is important because the Vols need the crowd to be a factor when the Aggies have the ball), but it'll keep Tennessee from having to play catch-up against a defensive front that's been dominant. The Vols need to score early and often against Texas A&M's defense to take a little bit of pressure off the offense. It seems like once Tennessee gets a lead in a game, they can usually put the game away thanks to having momentum on their side. It's when they have to play catch-up that things can trend in the wrong direction.

History says the Vols should be able to get off to a fast start on Saturday. But each game is its own unique story and just because Tennessee has started fast at home in the past doesn't mean they automatically will against the Aggies. The Vols will need to come out focused if the trend is going to continue against Texas A&M.
