Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady announced his retirement on Wednesday morning a year to the day after his first "retirement".

This time, however, Brady says it's for good.

We'll see if that's the case or not. There's a lot of time left between now and NFL training camps in July.

The possibility of Brady unretiring, however, didn't stop Tennessee Vols legend Peyton Manning from sending a thoughtful message to the former Patriots quarterback on Wednesday.

Manning took to Instagram to share a note with his friend and former rival.

"Congratulations to my friend Tom on an unbelievable football career," wrote Manning. "To do it as long as he did, at the highest levels is absolutely incredible. It was an honor and a privilege to compete against him on the field, and I truly appreciate his friendship off the field. I have always admired and respected his competitiveness, his dedication, his discipline, and his commitment to being the best. I wish him the best in his next chapter. Congratulations again, pal."

Regardless of what you think of Brady, there's no denying that the NFL won't be the same without him. For over two decades, Brady has been in a mainstay on Sundays in the fall.

It's a new era now. And while the NFL is in good hands with quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts, and Josh Allen, I think everyone feels a little older today without 45-year-old Tom Brady in the NFL anymore.
