Tennessee Vols offensive lineman Darnell Wright officially announced on Thursday that he's declaring for the 2023 NFL Draft.

Wright had one more season of eligibility remaining thanks to the extra year of eligibility granted to players in the wake of the COVID-19 impacted 2020 season.

The West Virginia native also announced that he plans to play in the Orange Bowl against Clemson.

"Can't thank Vol_Football enough it's been a hell of a time," wrote Wright in a tweet on Thursday. "To all my teammates that helped me get to this point can't thank y'all enough and to the fans that believed in us along the way I'm happy to say I left it better than I found it."

Draft evaluations for Wright vary. I've seen him mocked in the first round and I've seen him fall to the fourth or fifth round.

I have a feeling that Wright will be a player that NFL teams like more than draft analysts. In other words, I think he'll be drafted higher than the mocks suggest.

Wright was one of the most underrated players in the nation this season. He completely shut down Alabama edge rusher Will Anderson, a potential top-five pick, in the Vols' win against the Crimson Tide. That alone should make Wright an early-round draft selection.
