The 2024 Elite 11 Finals are finally here! For those unfamiliar, the Elite 11 has become the premier high school football recruiting quarterback competition where all the best passers in the country gather in one place to prove they're the best.

From 2016 to 2020 the Elite 11 MVP winners were Tua Tagovailoa, Justin Fields, Spencer Rattler, C.J. Stroud, and Caleb Williams. Four of five went on to be first round NFL Draft picks. Other notable Elite 11 alumni include Jayden Daniels, Trevor Lawrence, Matthew Stafford, Aaron Rodgers, and more.

This year's action will feature 20 of the best high school quarterback recruits from every corner of the sport, and they'll face off June 18-20 in Los Angeles, CA this week!

Elite 11 Finalists

Unfortunately a few of the top quarterback recruits elect not to participate every year, but most of the big names will be present and competing. Bryce Underwood, the consensus number one overall quarterback recruit currently committed to LSU won't be there, but the vast majority of the highest rated passers in all of high school football will be, as you can see in the list below.

Julian Lewis, Tavien St. Clair, and George MacIntyre, the three other consensus five star quarterbacks will be there. Akili Smith Jr., son former Oregon QB and NFL legacy is competing. Current QB commits from eight SEC schools will be too. It's going to be a fierce competition. But who will win? And who could be a sleeper candidate to come out of nowhere and perhaps take home the 2024 Elite 11 MVP title?

Top Elite 11 Contenders

Julian Lewis, USC Commit

There's a good chance that Julian Lewis is the favorite for many heading into the Elite 11 Finals. He's been considered a top tier quarterback prospect since he was in middle school and is quite comfortable in the camp competition setting. Lewis will come prepared and make most of the routine throws look absolutely effortless, despite his smaller 6'1", 185-pound frame.

Tavien St. Clair, Ohio State Commit

There's a reason Ohio State fell in love with Tavien St. Clair. As he's grown and filled out over the years he's now up to 6'4", 225 pounds with rocket arm strength. He'll certainly look the future-NFL-QB part in every drill, perhaps more so than any other recruit there. However, he's not been considered an elite talent as long as many at the event.

Deuce Knight, Notre Dame Commit

Knight is fresh off an incredible showing at the OT7 Flag Football championships where he earned On3 MVP honors of the entire competition. He can make all of the throws, and is used to being under immense pressure in this kind of environment, competing against the top competition in the sport. Just check out some of the plays he made at the OT7 Championships in Rivals' post below.

George MacIntyre, Tennessee Commit

This long lanky five star throws a beautiful deep ball. His release is a little slow given his frame, but he can make timing throws at an elite level too. MacIntyre may be the favorite for many as well considering how long he's been listed as a top tier quarterback prospect. He's been ready for this kind of competition for over two years, making difficult throws look easy for some time now despite lackluster talent around him.

Elite 11 Sleepers

KJ Lacey, Texas Commit

This is the "next Bryce Young" in college football. He's a much smaller quarterback prospect who might be listed at 6'0", but that's certainly questionable. Although he's very likely sub-180 pounds Lacey can sling the rock out of his hands quickly, accurately, and with incredible power. He won a 6A state championship as a sophomore, and led his team back to the finals again last season.

Keelon Russell, Alabama Commit

Speaking of state champions, Keelon Russell has been rising quickly since he won his second Texas state championship in a row last fall. Russell also just flipped from SMU to Alabama in recent weeks. After ranking as as lower tier four star for the majority of his recruitment process he is now considered a fringe five star QB, but many in the national media still haven't caught up to just how good he is at this point.

Trammel Jones Jr., Florida State Commit

Trammel Jones is one of the lowest ranked quarterbacks competing in the Elite 11 Finals based on the consensus recruiting service ratings, but don't let that fool you. He just led South Florida Express to an OT7 Flag Football Championship a couple weeks ago and thrives in the camp setting where all he has to do is make beautiful uncontested throws. Don't sleep on him just because he's barely a Top 300 player. Jones has every throw in his bag.

Ryan Montgomery, Georgia Commit

Ryan Montgomery broke records set at his high school that Ben Roethlisberger owned for nearly two decades. He's a special talent that just recently committed to Georgia to compete for the starting job in 2025. He's a lower ranked name in this year's group of Elite 11 QB recruits, but has some special traits and proven production on the field.

Elite 11 Pick to Win

Deuce Knight, Notre Dame Commit

Deuce Knight is my pick to win it all at the Elite 11 Finals. He boasts prototypical NFL QB size at 6'4", 200+ pounds. Knight brings incredible arm strength, smooth mobility to throw on the move, deadly accuracy at every level of the field, and has a long track record of showing out at the most high pressure events in football recruiting.
