If you're a Tennessee Vols fan who settled in on Christmas night to watch the San Francisco 49ers' matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, you may have been surprised to not see former UT wide receiver Jauan Jennings on the field.
Jennings, a seventh round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, has become a key player for the 49ers, thanks in large part to his commitment to blocking.
Jennings didn't play in the 49ers' 33-19 loss to the Ravens on Monday night because he was inactive due to a concussion. It was the first game that Jennings has missed this season.
I don't know if a healthy Jennings would've changed the score much on Monday night, but there's no doubt that San Francisco missed his physicality in the blocking game (and not to mention the key third down receptions that he's known for making).
