The Tennessee Vols landed their second five-star commit of the 2023 recruiting cycle this past week.

Five-star edge rusher Chandavian Bradley, 6-foot-4/220 lbs from Platte City, MO, committed to Tennessee over South Carolina and Texas A&M.

Bradley is ranked in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 5 edge rusher in the nation and the No. 1 player in the state of Missouri. He's also ranked as the No. 36 overall player in the 2023 recruiting class.

The talented pass rusher took a moment recently to explain to On3 why he decided to commit to Tennessee.

"[The] reason why I chose Tennessee is because it was a perfect fit for me," said Bradley. "They have the best family atmosphere I felt like. I just made a very good connection with everyone that's out there."

Creating a family atmosphere was something that Vols head coach Josh Heupel made a priority when he first arrived on Rocky Top in early 2021.

Heupel recognized that the culture left behind by previous UT head coach Jeremy Pruitt was a total disaster. So he worked quickly to fix it.

That family atmosphere is obviously important to the success of the current team, but it's also important when it comes to recruiting. A big reason why a recruit does or doesn't choose a program is because of what they hear from players already on the team.

Fortunately for the Vols, the opinions of the current players are convincing recruits to commit to Tennessee instead of the alternative.

The great family atmosphere under Heupel is just another reason why the Vols' recent recruiting success is more than sustainable.
