Alabama Crimson Tide defensive back Jaylen Mbakwe and wide receiver Ryan Williams joined All Facts No Brakes with Keyshawn Johnson this week to discuss a variety of topics.
At one point during the episode, Johnson, who played college football at USC, asked Mbakwe about facing Vols wide receiver Bru McCoy last month (McCoy started his college career at USC before transferring to Tennessee).
Mbakwe was quick to point out that he thought Tennessee's wide receivers, as a collective group, are really good.
"I feel like that whole receiving corps (Tennessee) was good," said Mbawke. "All of them, except for one, was like 6'2", 6'3", 6'4". All of them were fast. That's a good receiving corps, I ain't going to lie."
"The QB (Nico Iamaleava) was good," added Mbawke. "He was spinning it, he was spinning it. But yeah that whole receiving corps was [good]".
Tennessee beat Alabama 24-17 when the two teams met in Knoxville earlier this season.
Iamaleava passed for 194 yards and a touchdown in Tennessee's win against Alabama. McCoy led the Vols in receiving with six receptions for 80 yards. Dont'e Thornton added three receptions for 70 yards. Chris Brazzell had just two receptions for 27 yards, but he made the play of the game on a diving catch in the end zone for the go-ahead touchdown.
The rivalry between Tennessee and Alabama is intense, but there's obviously a lot of respect between the competitors on both sides.
