The Alabama Crimson Tide are hoping to steal an elite recruit from the Tennessee Vols' backyard.
2025 four-star quarterback George MacIntyre, a likely future five-star recruit (he's ranked as the No. 30 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class), is one of the Vols' top 2025 recruiting targets.
The dynamic quarterback from Brentwood, TN is ranked as the No. 2 quarterback in the 2025 recruiting class and the No. 2 player in the state of Tennessee.
At 6-foot-5, MacIntyre already has ideal SEC size even though he's still two years away from playing college football.
So it shouldn't come as a major surprise that MacIntyre received an offer from Alabama recently.
“Bama is Bama and I’m grateful to have the offer because it’s a lot of kids' dream to play there with their history,” said MacIntyre to 247Sports after receiving the offer from Alabama. “Coach Rees told me that they want me down in Tuscaloosa, he hasn’t been there very long but him leaving ND for Bama with the same job shows you the Bama effect.”
It's obviously very early in MacIntyre's recruitment so it would be unwise to get overly concerned about the Bama offer. But it does show Tennessee fans that landing MacIntyre won't be "automatic" just because he's an in-state kid. The Vols are going to have a battle on their hands to make sure MacIntyre lands in Knoxville.
