On Monday, Tennessee head football coach Josh Heupel announced the hiring of his new wide receivers coach. Heupel decided to promote from within and gave offensive analyst Kelsey Pope the opportunity to take the vacant position. Pope was previously the wide receivers coach at both Gardner-Webb and Tennessee Tech.

He came to Knoxville in 2021 and had already been helping coach up the wideouts alongside previous wide receivers coach Kodi Burns, who left for the same position with the New Orleans Saints in the NFL.
