Analyst makes prediction that would make the Tennessee Vols’ pursuit of a top 2027 recruiting target more difficult

The Tennessee Vols are currently in the midst of an intense battle for one of the top 2027 recruits in the nation.
Tennessee is battling the Ohio State Buckeyes for 2027 five-star running back David Gabriel Georges.
Gabriel Georges, 6-foot, 205 pounds from Chattanooga, TN (by way of Quebec), is rated by 247Sports as the No. 2 running back in the nation and the No. 14 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class.
Other schools are also in the mix for Gabriel Georges, but it’s Tennessee and Ohio State, for now, that are viewed as the favorites to land the elite running back (some even feel that Ohio State is the favorite).
Recruiting analyst makes prediction that could make Tennessee’s pursuit of David Gabriel Georges a bit more difficult
On3’s Steve Wiltfong made a prediction on Tuesday that could impact Tennessee’s pursuit of Gabriel Georges.
Wiltfong predicted that the Penn State Nittany Lions will land 2027 five-star running back Kemon Spell.
Spell is the No. 1 running back in the nation, and Georgia is one of the favorites for the talented five-star recruit.
If Georgia misses on Spell, it’s reasonable to suggest that they’ll ramp up their pursuit of Gabriel Georges.
And the Bulldogs are a legitimate threat anytime they’re in the mix for a top recruit.
Tennessee has put its best foot forward in its pursuit of Gabriel Georges, but there’s no guarantee that he’ll land with the Vols no matter how of a good job the UT coaching staff does in this recruiting battle.
The next five or six months will likely determine how this battle plays out.
