The Tennessee Vols will enter the month of October as the No. 4 team in college football.

Tennessee moved up a spot in the AP Top 25 poll this week thanks to the Georgia Bulldogs' loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa.

Most folks (fans and media) seem to agree that Tennessee should be ranked No. 4 this week. But not every AP Top 25 voter saw it the same way when turning in their ballots.

One AP voter, in fact, doesn't even think the Vols are a top seven team.

The San Diego Tribune's Kirk Kenney has the distinction this week of being the AP voter that has Tennessee ranked the lowest.

Kenney has the Vols at No. 8 on his ballot.

A couple of other voters have Tennessee at No. 6 or No. 7, but most voters have the Vols in the top 5 (a couple of voters even have UT at No. 3).

Kenney's ballot, in general, is odd. He has Ohio State at No. 1 and Texas at No. 2. Alabama comes in at No. 3 despite their win against Georgia.

And speaking of the Bulldogs, Kenney has UGA at No. 4 despite the loss to the Crimson Tide.

Oregon, which has zero wins against ranked teams this season, is at No. 5 on Kenney's ballot.

Miami, which was a replay review away from losing at home to Virginia Tech, is ranked No. 7 by Kenney, one spot above Tennessee.

Sometimes I wonder how much college football some of these AP voters actually watch.
