On Monday evening, shortly after news broke that UCLA Bruins quarterback Joey Aguilar is planning to join the Tennessee Vols as a transfer addition, it was reported that Arkansas Razorbacks true freshman quarterback Madden Iamaleava is entering the transfer portal.
Madden is the younger brother of former Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava, who announced on Sunday that he's transferring to UCLA.
ESPN's Chris Low reported that Madden told the Arkansas staff that he plans to join Nico at UCLA.
On Tuesday, Arkansas athletic director Hunter Yurachek tweeted a message that appeared to be in response to Madden's decision to leave the program after spring practice.
"I have spoken with the leadership team at Arkansas Edge and expressed my support in their pursuit to enforce their rights under any agreement violated by our student-athletes moving forward," wrote Yuracheck. "We appreciate Edge's investment in our student-athletes and acknowledge the enforcement of these agreements is vital in our new world of college athletics. We look forward to continued dialogue with all parties in resolving these matters."
Several college football reporters interpreted Yurachek's message as a signal that Arkansas plans to enforce buyout language in NIL deals.
