Auburn Tigers head coach Bruce Pearl took a minute on Wednesday to send a heartfelt message to Lady Vols legend Candace Parker.
Pearl, who was the head coach at Tennessee from 2005 to 2011, responded to a tweet that featured a video of Parker talking about how legendary Tennessee head coach Pat Summitt placed an importance on eye contact.
"She had like this crystal blue stare that could get you to want to run through walls," said a teary eyed Parker in the video while discussing the late Pat Summitt.
"There isn't a Lady Vol that Coach Summitt would be any more proud of than Candace," wrote Pearl in a tweet. "She signed up for it and like every Lady Vol, she got held to the highest standard, and her girls loved her for it! [You] make us proud, Candace. Always remember that stare, it's taken us all a long way!"
Pearl had a front-row seat for most of Parker's career at Tennessee (Parker played for the Lady Vols from 2004 to 2008).
The Auburn head coach was also fortunate enough to be at Tennessee during Summitt's final two national championships of her Hall of Fame (2007 and 2008).
It's been 13 years since Summitt coached her last game at Tennessee. And it's been nearly nine years since Summitt passed away. But there's no doubt that her impact on Tennessee, and on college basketball, is felt daily.
