Auburn Tigers head coach and former Tennessee Vols offensive coordinator Alex Golesh has never been shy about speaking his mind.

Golesh provided one of the best viral moments in recent college football history when he said during a post-game interview that USF, where he was the head coach at the time, just “whooped that ass” after a 45-0 win over Syracuse in 2023.

The former Tennessee offensive coordinator also didn’t hesitate to call out UTSA head coach Jeff Traylor last season for comments about USF’s roster and “payroll”.

Alex Golesh fires off perfect response to internet trolls criticizing Auburn quarterback Byrum Brown

A video of Auburn quarterback Byrum Brown went viral this week due to his throwing motion.

Brown, who passed for 3,158 yards and 28 touchdowns last season at USF, has an unorthodox throwing motion, which is something you’ll notice with quarterbacks from time to time (eight-time NFL Pro Bowler Philip Rivers, for example).

Golesh noticed the criticism and tweeted the perfect response — September 5, 2026.

September 5, 2026 is Auburn’s first game of the season (against Baylor in the Aflac Kickoff Game in Atlanta).

Golesh clearly has a lot of confidence in Brown. And instead of arguing with the internet trolls, he simply invited them to watch Brown when it counts.
