‘Speaks to his character’ – National analyst makes strong statement about Tennessee Vols 5-star signee
The Tennessee Vols landed some elite talent during the 2026 recruiting cycle.
The Tennessee Vols landed some elite talent during the 2026 recruiting cycle, including three five-star recruits — quarterback Faizon Brandon, wide receiver TK Keys, and offensive lineman Gabriel Osenda.
Those three players anchor a 2026 recruiting class for the Volunteers that’s ranked No. 10 in the nation (via 247Sports).
Keys, the No. 1 wide receiver in the nation, is the most likely of Tennessee’s three five-star signees to see extensive playing time in 2026.
The Mississippi native will compete with second-year Vols receivers Travis Smith, Radarious Jackson, and Joakim Dodson for playing time this fall.
National recruiting analyst drops encouraging quote about TK Keys
Keys, 6-foot-2/186 pounds, finished the 2026 recruiting cycle as the No. 12 overall recruit in the nation.
It’s not just Keys’ elite on-field talent that impressed evaluators, his character is also viewed as elite.
247Sports recruiting analyst Andrew Ivins pointed out this week that Keys battled a knee injury during his senior season, but that didn’t stop him from suiting up for his high school in the state playoffs, or from practicing in the Navy All-American Bowl.
“After assembling some of the best junior tape in the class, Keys had his senior year marred by a knee injury,” wrote Ivins. “He still suited up in the playoffs for his high school and even practiced at the Navy All-American Bowl despite not being anywhere close to 100%, which speaks to his character. When fully healthy, Keys has all the ingredients to be a game-wrecker on the outside as he chews up cushion with his stride before making dynamic cuts to create separation. Tennessee fans should picture another Chris Brazzell in the offense.”
Keys is the rare type of talent that’s capable of making a major impact as a true freshman. I have a feeling it’s going to be tough to keep the five-star wide receiver off the field this fall.
