Do the Georgia Bulldogs have the most sensitive fan base in college football?

At least one prominent college football personality thinks that's the case.

(And I'm betting that plenty of opposing fan bases will agree.)

Kayce Smith, the host of Unnecessary Roughness (Barstool Sports' college football podcast), suggested this week that Georgia has one of the most sensitive fan bases in the sport.

"Georgia, what are you doing, why are you guys crying?" said Smith in a video uploaded to social media over the weekend. "You're back-to-back national champions, you have Kirby Smart as your head coach, who's a top two head coach in the country — potentially No. 1. And yet you still find reasons to be pissed off. God forbid people say Sanford Stadium's not that loud in comparison to other stadiums. And guess what? It's not. It's still great. What are you crying? Georgia, relax. You have everything right now"

Most college football fans that have spent any amount of time on social media over the last six to eight months will likely agree with Smith.

From my own experience, I've noticed that if I tweet a video of let's say Jalin Hyatt's five touchdowns against Alabama, there's going to be a couple of Georgia fans that quickly find the tweet and comment about how the Bulldogs shut down the Tennessee Vols' offense this past season.

And look, they're not wrong — Georgia limited Tennessee to just 13 points in Athens last season. But does that mean that UT's 11 wins didn't count? Does that mean the Vols' 2022 season was a total letdown because they lost to the Bulldogs? Should Tennessee fans opt to not celebrate a single part of the 2022 season because the Vols didn't beat Georiga?

Of course not. But that's how Georgia fans tend to think apparently. Based on their logic, unless a program goes 15-0 and wins a national championship, the season is a waste. It's an incredibly silly and immature reaction to another SEC program having a great season that wasn't quite as great as Georgia's season.

Everyone knows that Georgia is the class of college football right now. Every other program is chasing the Bulldogs. But just because a program doesn't beat Georgia, doesn't mean their successes should be discounted. If anything, Georgia fans should love that the Bulldogs are facing (and beating) a Tennessee team that's in a much better place than it was the previous 15 years. But according to the logic of UGA fans, the Bulldogs' win over the Vols this past November wasn't impressive at all. Using that logic, I'm not sure how Georgia even made the playoff if they didn't play any good teams last season…
