The race is on for top offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. The unanimous 2025 5-star recruit took his official visit to Clemson on Friday, and now insiders are wondering what's next for the 6-foot-6, 270-pounder. Although he's been crystalballed to select Clemson as a Charlotte, North Carolina native, there's been a ton of backchannel chatter about Tennessee, Georgia, and Ohio State lurking.

David Sanders Jr. Takes Official Visits

Ranked as the No. 2 overall player in the 2025 class, the next few weeks will be massive for Sanders' future. He visited Nebraska on May 10 and Clemson on May 31. Next up is Georgia on June 7, followed by Tennessee (June 14), Alabama (June 18) and Ohio State (June 21).

One Clemson insider I spoke with said they believe the Volunteers will ultimately flip Sanders. However, Ohio State has also felt they have a strong appeal to Sanders' desires to play for a winning program. Of course, then Georgia will have a strong argument as well.

Of course, it could all mean nothing. Sanders has repeatedly praised Clemson's coaching staff and NFL pipeline.

He told On3 that the big picture is getting "a lot clearer" entering his official visits. I think it's clear he's narrowed down his list of possible landing spots, with South Carolina even in the race as a darkhorse. It's unfair to say it's all about the money, according to one source I talked to.

However, it's clear the bluebloods are chasing Sanders aggressively. Kalen DeBoer and the Crimson Tide haven't had as much early success as they would've liked, so staying in the race for Sanders is important. It's just going to be an uphill battle, considering how Sanders' relationship with Clemson, Ohio State, Georgia, and Tennessee has been solidified over the last few months.

We'll continue to track Sanders' recruitment throughout signing day.
