One of the top 2026 recruits in the nation had quite the reaction to the atmosphere at Neyland Stadium this past weekend for the Tennessee Vols' 24-17 win against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

2026 four-star edge rusher Rodney Dunham visited Tennessee for the Alabama game and came away extremely impressed with the atmosphere at Neyland.

"The environment was insane," said Dunham to 247Sports. "Probably the best environment I've ever seen. It's definitely one of the best fan bases."

Dunham, 6-foot-4/227 lbs from Charlotte, NC, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 3 edge rusher in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state of North Carolina. He's also rated as the No. 13 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.

Auburn, Duke, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Notre Dame, and Ohio State, are among the programs with interest in Dunham, though more schools will continue to get into the mix as his recruitment progresses.

Interestingly, Dunham is also an elite baseball talent. The Charlotte native has touched 90 MPH on the mound according to his Perfect Game profile

It's still early in Dunham's recruitment, but it sounds like Tennessee is going to be very much in the mix to land the talented edge rusher. It should help that Vols junior edge rusher James Pearce, who is also from Charlotte, is thriving on Rocky Top. Pearce's success shows Dunham what's possible while playing in Tim Banks' defense at Tennessee.
