The crown jewel of the Tennessee Vols' 2026 recruiting class is easily five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon, who has been committed to UT since last August.

Brandon, 6-foot-4/200 lbs from Greensboro, NC, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 1 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.

Undeterred by his commitment to Tennessee, rival programs are unsurprisingly continuing to recruit Brandon.

The elite quarterback prospect, however, remains solidly committed to Tennessee despite the overtures from rival programs.

Brandon told 247Sports this week that LSU quarterbacks coach Joe Sloan, specifically, is the main coach (outside of Tennessee's coaching staff) that's communicating with him.

"LSU coach Joe Sloan is really the main coach that communicates with me a lot outside of Tennessee," said Brandon. "What I tell other schools right now is I don't decline their interest and I want to keep the relationship in case something happens because you never know, but I'm locked in with Tennessee."

Brandon is an elite talent and other programs are going to continue to take swings at landing him all the way until the early signing period in December. And even after he signs with Tennessee, there will inevitably be some tampering (quarterbacks are highly coveted).

The Vols, though, are doing a good job of making sure that Brandon stays committed. And that's important — because if Tennessee slips up, it sounds like Sloan and LSU will be there waiting to take advantage.
